Hi everyone! I'm Nat, a mod at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) echo_rpg - a AU set in 1995. The premise is that the Potters were tipped off and were protected by the Order the night Voldemort came for them in 1981. Voldemort was defeated and the Potters lived. Now Harry and his generation are in their 5th year and there are strange things beginning to happen....a professor has disappeared and the world will slowly get darker once more.
We're a newly opened game but many of the players migrated from a recently-closed community so we're fairly active. We do need several more characters to reach our full potential. Specifically, we are looking for some very dedicated players for Death Eaters (especially the Malfoys, Bellatrix and Rastaban, Avery, etc)., some more students (Cedric Diggory, HARRY POTTER!, Ginny Weasley, and more), and a group of Aurors looking for active plot (we'd love a Mad Eye, Shackbolt, Proudfoot, etc).
Sound like fun? It is! We've got lots of plot up our sleeves waiting to be unleashed and just need a few more people to make it happen!

I'm Steff, aka Rodolphus Lestrange and Angelina Johnson at ammods. I've advertised for both of them, and had no luck :( AM is a game where wizards have been sucked into the same village from all sorts of times. You create how old they are, and what year they're from.
Bellatrix Black/Lestrange → I have Rodolphus listed as married to her, though the wedding date can be discussed
→ I'm fond of her being infertile, why else didn't they have a heir?
→ I'm also fond of them not being affectionate/admitting they love each other. Rodolphus is still young, though he will eventually grow into loving her. Any backstory can be worked out depending on how old she may be.
Rabastan Lestrange → Although Rodolphus has been making friends, Rabastan is the only person who truly knows Rodolphus. I'm interested in working their relationship.
→ I have a sister listed who's younger than Ro, but older than Rab. That can be changed and/or thrown out.
Fred & George Weasley → Angelina is mostly over Fred's death, as it's been a year and a half. I'd love to see her reaction to a very much alive Fred, and depending on how old he is - working out their relationship.
→ At the moment Angelina and George are in a sort-of relationship after coming together over their grief. Ang has no idea she married him, or had children with him. I'm interested in establishing her relationship with him.
Fred II & Roxanne Weasley → Angie has babies, but she has no idea. I'd love for either (or both!) of them to suddenly appear to wreck some havoc on her.
→ I see Angelina as a demanding mother, though accepting of her children's choices. Ang's own mother hated the fact Ang went into quidditch, and that really affected Angelina.

So yay I have a job. I had the interview yesterday (at a surprisingly large strawberry farm). It was really bizarre cause it ended up being more of a chat than an actual interview. And I'd been thinking okay i'll hear back in a couple of days or whatever and be told whether i have the job or not... um.... yeah that didn't happen. The lady, and I can't remember what was said exactly but... she said 'somethingsomething and it doesn't matter anyway, you've got the job.'
And in my head I'm just going 'WHAT? I'VE GOT THE JOB?'. It was just really strange. Anyway I start Monday 1pm... it's not much, I'll be compiling the tallies the workers have and taking care of the shop front. But it's something.
Oh Layne, I almost have a tag done for you... I had most of it and was going to post before going to bed last night but it still needed a bit extra. But I swear it'll be up soon.

I've been thinking about my writing habits and the types of characters I write, and I've come to a couple of realizations.
1. I kind of really stink at characters that are complete asses. Ask me to play a douchebag guy and he'll end up baking cookies for his friends eventually. I feel like a lot of mine have this inherent need to be nice. Even my Slytherin girls, who were supposed to be kind of snotty end up on the nice side.
2. I don't think I'm good at uppercrust society people, unless I'm playing them as a sort of parody character. Like Persephone and her whole marriage and everything with Prior at BL. Or Prince Charles at Fair, who I should probably try to write something for at some point.
3. I really like ships. This isn't to say that I'm automatically going to have my characters jumping into somebody's trousers at the first sign of attention, but it's pretty likely that mine will end up in some sort of relationship at some point.
I suppose I kind of feel like a lot of my characters follow the same sort of archetypes and that all of my characters are exactly the same. Or that I write in such a way that it's painfully obvious that I'm the writer behind every single one of my characters.
But then again, maybe I am just too critical.

Looking for a next-gen game that won't fizzle out after a couple of months? Why not check out bravenew_rpg/bravenew_mod, a socially-focused next-gen game set in 2023? The game is open to Hogwarts alumni as well as students, and is still very active after opening over a year ago. A new plot has recently started, involving the upcoming introduction of a small group of Muggles and Squibs to Hogwarts.
I'd love to see Scarlett Chase in game. Scarlett's a Muggleborn and recent Gryffindor alumni, currently living with her best friend Juno Capper, who I play. The two have been friends since third year, when they worked backstage for the drama club. There's e-cookies and potential plot for anyone who wants to pick her up!
Juno's younger brother Alban Capper, a 5th year Gryffindor, would also be very welcome- Hugo Weasley is currently the only 5th year Gryffindor boy, and I'm sure he'd love to have his dormmates around.
Other wanted characters include alumni and 5th and 6th year boys!

breaking_point is a fabulous game with a gigantic amount of plot and fabulous players. It's set in 2024, and Voldemort just returned from the dead and is causing a whole lot of trouble. We do need some key characters however, especially Albus Potter, Ron Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks. Read more about them behind the cut.

Rodolphus at Wished is coming at you with a peculiar request. Following the recent takeover of the Ministry of Magic by Voldemort and his Death Eaters, Rodolphus has been tasked with finding people to join the Snatchers. The problem? We don't have nearly enough dark-minded adults around! There are many possiblities - any former students, of course. Any name only canon names that you want to flesh out as an OC Snatcher too would probably work! We just need some dark to counteract all the damn Order members we have around!

Hi there. I'm Bette, playing at Wished and since I've been so successful here before, I thought I would post here for some roles that we're looking for.

There are many students being looked for specifically, so please have a look at our Available Characters list and see if there's anyone you would like to consider. We have many name only students if you have an OC concept you've been aching to try, and we do love helping people integrate characters, so if you have a character idea that you want to try out, or a character from a past game that you would like to try again, we have an active cast of both 7th years and 6th years, and they are all looking for their missing classmates. The only thing it might require is a personality transfer to a different blank slate character name. If you'd like to step into some roles that you know will have automatic things to play, you can check out our Requested Storylines as well.
Wished is a Trio Era AU, diverging from canon halfway through HBP and set in 7th year. We're a well organized game with a cast base that is friendly and welcoming. We have been open for three months and already have quite a large cast of activecharacters. You can see from our public game recaps how active we are. This is not a game that will die in a month. I have James Potter and Rita Skeeter over at The Other Side. Think of this game as your wet dream crack characters in a game with substantial plot. I promise it's worth your time. Promise.
Rita currently needs:
(♂) "Bozo" Bosso. He ends up being Rita's cameraman for the Daily Prophet, but in school Rita, Gilderoy and Bosso would hang out. He's "Bozo" in canon, but in game canon that's just Rita mispronouncing his last name and then sticking with it because she's stubborn like that. Oh, and Gilderoy also demands you come over. Don't say no to him. He has gorgeous hair.
Horace Slughorn because she adores him. She needs a teacher who likes her just a little bit and since Rita has future success written all over her, it wouldn't be surprising that Slughorn wants to collect her.
Hesper Keddle. He's an original character that's been mentioned in the game. He runs the local newspaper and let's face it, Rita wants to score a job there. It would be great if he could mentor her on the wonderful methods of destroying people via articles.
James currently needs:
Peter Pettigrew because they all need the mousy little Marauder to tease. Come join your Brethren, Peter! They need you. Plus, James and Lily don't know you betrayed them in the future yet, so you don't have to worry about them hating you.
Molly and Arthur Weasley. Why? Because Harry married Ginny and well, he wants to have a talk with the Weasleys about it. Maybe grow closer over some pints and have long talks with Arthur about how scary redheaded women are when they're mad. Their heads aflame. It's terrifying and he needs someone to bond with over this other than his son.
Plot-wise we need:
-Dopple!Draco Malfoy and Dopple!Lucius Malfoy. (Dopple!Narcissa is in pending!)
-Dopple!Rodolphus Lestrange. Bella needs her hubby. Oh, and our Dopple!Neville is going to need his adoptive father, after all.
-Dopple!Sirius, Peter and Remus. The Dopple!Potters want you around. And, really, who wouldn't? Maybe in the New World, Peter is redeemable? Up to you!
-Dopple!Fenrir Greyback. Head of the "Guard Dogs".
-WEASLEYS. C'mon! You guys spread like rabbits, how is there only one of you over here? Ginny wants her family! Not to mention Harry needs Ron.

We've got a Hermione held, now how about a Ron Weasley.
Hi there, I'm Jess. I play our loveable Harry Potter over at plagued_rpg. Things have gotten a little hairy at Hogwarts this year. See, there's this virus sweeping through the magical world that leaves witches and wizards without magic. The school is in a quarantined bubble, and no one can leave. People can come in, that's for sure. We've had Death Eaters come and take students who were too near the forest. Dangerous madmen... they're all within three miles of Hogwarts grounds. Student's are getting a little cranky. Ghosts are coming back with all the fear and pent up energy.
This seriously is the best game I've ever been in. Do come join us.
Harry (and I) would really like to see:
Ron, Ghost!Sirius, Ghost!Remus, Ghost!Snape, Andromeda (who may be trapped on the continent), people who are actually out to get him--he did kill several people's master you know, and everyone else you'd like to bring in!

| Many Characters Needed in Vast Array of Eras |

I'm Jennifer and I mod and play in a few games that need some fresh blood, along with storylines filled.
Darkness Rising is an extremely active Marauders Era game which takes place during the height of the war in 1978. We have extremely active and wonderfully written characters, have been open for close to a year, and we have solid plots planned for many more months to come. We would love to have the following characters:
( Wanted Characters including James, Peter, Frank, Xeno, Rodolphus, etc. )
Exodus is a brand new Marauders Era game that opened on Halloween and closing next November. That's right, we'll only be open for one year. Why you ask? Because we want to solely explore the final year of the war against Voldemort. The game will be dark, bloody, and yes, characters will die in game. We opened with a huge battle and the Potters thrice defying the Dark Lord and they are now on the run. We will be spend the year of the game unraveling how everyone got from prophecy to 'omg everyone is dead'. We've got kick ass players and we would love to see more. The characters we are seeking include:
( Wanted Characters including James, Peter, Frank, Xeno, Rodolphus, etc. )
Quadrivium is an interim game taking place during 1990 at Hogwarts dealing in character development and setting the foundation for the plot of the books. We're a small cast, looking for more students to increase the level of drama in the school, break up relationships, start new ones, and anything else to your heart's content. We're an escape from everyday RP and we welcome shipping, IC drama, and having a good time when all we want to do is have a bit of a cracked-out time. What we really need are more students, including a few love interests for some of our characters. Most of all, we need some younger students, as in June the majority of our cast will be leaving Hogwarts, and who then will keep Gossip Witch in business? At this time we'd specifically love to see a Charlie Weasley, who is a recast, and any questions can be directed to me.
Recuperatio is a Post-DH game taking place in 2005, revolving around a third war in the Wizarding World, werewolves, serial killers, etc. We're active and have a strong cast with strong plots and we're looking to grow so that we can introduce even bigger plots.

Does anyone out there want to play a Ron Weasley? I have to say, I'm rather desperate to find one for my Hermione over at gilded_court. He would have plenty of plot, ready-made, between a not-quite-girlfriend, an over-bearing mother, an older brother Bill who's keen on getting in some family time, a Victor that's sniffing around, a Draco that's not his military(esque?) commander, and anything else you'd care to think up. GC is a very fun, active game with a great mod team and lots of players.
We could also use the rest of the Weasleys, Percy, George, and Fred, and a Harry Potter, if anyone would be interested.

5. I actually have a son, who's probably about five years old now. He lives with his mum and I send her some money every month to help out. Not some heartless bastard after all. It was something that happened the night we went out celebrating a match we'd won, my first since playing first string, and... well, the rest is history as they say and no one else knows, not even Mum or Dad know...

That little snippet is from Alex's Profile. I'm still not sure when the whole thing will actually start to become public knowledge or how it is it does become public knowledge. The problem I do have is that so far the poor kid doesn't even have a name. And for that matter I don't know who his mother is. Which would be important as to the kid's name, since I don't think he'd have his dad's surname (at least not at this point in time, I figure eventually though). This would've happened in 2017/2018. Girl... well actually she would've been young, but definitely of age (he's not a cradle robbing pervert)... um... apart from that I have no idea.
Um... anyway... basically just seeing if anyone has any suggestions for the Mama. Figured if I had her name then I could just use Nymbler and pick out a name for the kiddlywink.

Question! Because my mom had me thinking about it today, and I'm curious. What is your favorite Christmas (or Winter/holiday!) song? And is there any particular reason why it's your favorite?
Personally, I have to admit that mine is probably Fairytale of New York by The Pogues. I think for me it's because when I was in London two years ago, it was literally the week before Christmas and I heard that song on the radio all the time and it just reminds me of the holidays in Europe- it was a lot of fun for me and I just love all of the Christmas fairs and the holiday spirit and all of that- I wish we had more of that sort of thing down here (or at least near my house!).

Not too shabby! Today I've made steak and potatoes and corn for lunch and it turned out pretty delicious! I made up a garlic marinade using a little lemon juice and some of the Salt Grass steakhouse seasoning- it's a nice different flavor from the steaks we've had in a while.
Everything else has been okay. Yesterday was kinda strange, but ended on a pretty good note. And I had a chocolate banana milkshake with Bailey's and it was sooooooo good. I might make me another one tonight. Thanksgiving is coming up- I only have class on Monday and on Tuesday I'll make my signature pecan pie (my family claims it's the best they've ever had but idk. But hey- if they like it, then awesome!) and Wednesday I have a dentist appointment. Whoop de doo!
And yes! I'm going to finish my lunch and then study for tomorrow's Italian test. :)
